Service bulletin SSM 51142
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2022 Maverick vehicles equipped with a 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may exhibit a condition where the brakes may grab during light braking at or below 6.2 mph (10 km/h). This may be due to the software in the anti-lock brake system module (ABS). This condition does not affect vehicle safety/performance and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to safely drive the vehicle, and engineering is currently developing a software update that is expected in the last week of November 2022. Once the software update is available, contact the customer and schedule a follow-up appointment for repair in December 2022. Monitor OASIS for updates.

| SSM 55215 | 2026-10-02. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2024 Maverick hybrid vehicles may exhibit various electrical symptoms and/or a no crank/no start condition related to an intermittent 12V battery drain that has discharged the 12V battery. This may be due to the software in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. To correct this condition, download and run the "ABS - Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module Software Update" and "ACCM - Air Conditioning Control Module (ACCM) Software Update" applications using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming use causal part 2005 and labor operations 10654C and 12651D along with MT2005SSM up to 0.7 hours for the ABS, ACCM, PCM, and SOBDMC as needed. |

This may be due to the software in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. | SSM 54632 | 2026-03-11. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2024 Maverick hybrid vehicles may continue to exhibit a no crank/no start condition due to a 12V battery drain after performing the air conditioning control module (ACCM) software update. This may be due the brake pad self-adjustment routine being run by anti-lock brake system (ABS) module software. Inform customers engineering is aware of this condition and is currently developing an ABS module software update that is expected to be available in late Q2 of 2026. To avoid this 12V battery drain condition, inform customers that they can apply the parking brake when the vehicle is turned off. This will prevent the ABS module from running the self-adjustment routine.

If a vehicle comes in for this condition and ABS software is not suspected, refer to the "Discharged Battery/12-Volt Battery Drain Check" General Service Bulletin (GSB) and monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information. Schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. If a vehicle exhibits this concern, submit a Global Concern Report (GCR). |
| SSM 51261 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00. |
| SSM 51217 | 2022-11-30. Service bulletin. Some 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit the brake service mode is inoperative when using the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure. To avoid this condition, do not use the brake service mode procedure described in the WSM. Instead, use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool to activate the Brake Service Mode. Run the ABS-Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Service Tools app and select enter park brake maintenance mode. |
| SSM 51120 | 2022-10-11. |
| SSM 50917 | 2022-07-19. Service bulletin. Some 2022 Maverick vehicles built on 3-Jun-2021 and through 25-Nov-2021 may exhibit a condition where the integrated trailer brake setting menu is not displayed in the instrumental panel cluster (IPC). This may be due to a misconfigured IPC. To correct this condition, run the IPC-Configuration app using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 10849 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
