13-0652024-11-05. Service bulletin. 13-065 DAVIE4 Chassis Air Leak Testing Info Only A new test is now available in DAVIE4 to properly measure chassis air system pressure decay, provide test results, and pass/fail criteria. Your DAVIE tool must be at version 24.05 or newer for the test to be available. A test procedure document has also been made available that shows all necessary setup and testing procedure criteria (procedure document attached in Links section). The DAVIE4 “Check the air pressure decay rate” test and the test procedure document MUST be followed anytime a chassis comes in for a warranty related air system repair where excessive air system pressure decay is suspected. Warranty claims filed for air system pressure decay may be denied if DAVIE4 test AND test procedure have not been followed.
23PBC2023-07-05. Service bulletin. Safety Recall Bendix has established a repair procedure and is providing the parts to update and correct this issue. Certain tractors equipped with Bendix Intellipark Tractor Park Valve Module (PVM) may intermittently become stuck in the un-parked position and may not transition from un-parked to parked when the park switch is pulled on the vehicle dashboard. Warning which can precede or occur: Park indication LEDs on the park switch remain off after the park switch is pulled indicating that the spring brake system has not exhausted, and the vehicle is not parked. Audible exhaust sounds that typically are heard as an air-braked vehicle is parked will not be heard indicating that the vehicle is not parked.
34-0962023-05-05. Service bulletin. Fix As Fail – All New Model 579 chassis with Bendix radar opti on may have a harness rub against the radiator that is causing possible damage.
13-0572022-04-05. Service bulletin. Fix-As-Fail – A hill start assist (HSA) valve plumbing revision eliminates ice buildup in the HSA valve exhaust in cold weather.
13-0592022-03-04. Service bulletin. On certain Model Year 2022 chassis with manual transmissions, the optional “audible alarm when door is open and park brake is not set” feature operates incorrectly due to a software issue. Software will be corrected when available.
21PBM2022-01-06. Service bulletin. Safety Recall – Work Brake May Unintentionally Disengage – NHTSA ID: 21V906, TC: 2021-713. The work brake (also known as winch brake) may unintentionally disengage during winching operations, releasing the service brakes, increasing the risk of crash or injury. The VECU software will be updated to correctly set the speed interlock parameter.
21 PBK2021-10-05. Service bulletin. Safety Recall – Certain Model 520 trucks may have been built without a quick release (QR) valve. The absence of this valve could affect rear brake timing on certain vehicles equipped with a tri-drive or liftable tag axle and Dual Seated or Right Hand Stand-Up steering configurations. Vehicles will be inspected and, if necessary, a QR valve will be installed.
21PBE2021-07-06. Service bulletin. Safety Recall – TSE Brake Chamber Air Leak – NHTSA ID: 21V328. Meritor brake chambers were built with a misaligned park spring, which may cause a fatigue hole in the diaphragm and an internal air leak. The affected brake chambers will be replaced.
20 PBF2021-01-06. Service bulletin. Safety Recall: Interim Dealer Notification - Peterbilt has decided that a condition affecting vehicle stability may exist in certain Model 520 vehicles built from 9/26/2019 through 7/22/2020 with stability control and a spring brake modulator valve (SBM) or lift axle. The Stability Control Relay may have been plumbed incorrectly, which could cause a stability event that may actuate the lift axle brakes or modulate the park brake chambers, which could destabilize the vehicle. This bulletin will be updated as soon as an affected chassis list is defined and a repair procedure is developed.
44-0312020-11-05. Service bulletin. Non-safety campaign: Peterbilt has determined that vehicles meeting the criteria below may exhibit interference between the fuel line fittings on the Davco fuel filter and the brake chamber due to insufficient clearance. Repeated contact between the fuel filter fuel line fittings and the brake chamber may cause the fittings to break and leak or may cause canister damage. Model 579/567 vehicles Model Years 2018 and 2019 built between 01/16/2017 and 07/09/2018 equipped with a return fuel heated DAVCO 382 fuel filter, short hood, Set Back Front Axle (SBFA) and one of the following: Front drum brakes Disc brakes with DANA E-Series axles Disc brakes with Meritor MFS20 axles Disc brakes with DANA D2000 axles
