Service bulletin TSB 22-2228
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a condition where a front and/or crew cab rear door will not open from the exterior handle when the doors are unlocked or where the exterior handle seems blocked from reaching full travel (full stroke). This may be due to the engagement of the resettable inertia lock feature within the handle reinforcement mechanism. If this is the case, the mechanism can be reset to allow full handle function. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reset the inertia lock.

Some 2021-2025 F-150 vehicles may exhibit an "Active Air Dam System Fault See Manual" warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or an AAD hanging/not retracting. This may be due to a broken AAD actuator to air dam bolt or bolts. If diagnostics lead to ADD actuator as the causal part, a new lower-level service bolt and u-nut are available. It is not necessary to replace the AAD actuator if only the bolt(s) are damaged. |

This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab > Accessories > Installation > Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide > PPT C > Step C2.

Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad.
