Service bulletin SSM 50202

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2021 F-150 vehicles may experience an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:48 stored in the ABS module. The U3000:48 DTC in the ABS module typically sets in conjunction with various chassis DTCs. When addressing related ABS concerns, all chassis DTCs are to be diagnosed and resolved first using Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09, before attempting to diagnose and resolve any network communication DTCs.

Some 2021 F-150 vehicles built on or before 14-June-2021 may exhibit a rubbing noise at the front of the vehicle while driving and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C0031 and/or C0034 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be caused by an incorrectly routed front brake flexible hose. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the front brake flexible hose routing.
