Service bulletin TSB 20-2150

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles built on or before 31-Dec-2018 and some 2017-2018 E-450 vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine built on or before 16-Jul-2018 using the Motorcraft Orange coolant may exhibit an engine overheat concern. This condition may be due to deposits from the engine coolant becoming trapped in the radiator preventing coolant flow. To correct the condition, flush the cooling system, replace the radiator and fill with Motocraft Yellow coolant.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
SSM 470912018-05-14. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2018 Transit vehicles may exhibit a coolant leak due to a hose clamp not sealing. To assist with the investigation use the Report A Vehicle Concern link in the purple bar at the bottom of the OASIS report and submit a Global Concern Report (GCR), noting the leak severity and hose clamp location. If available, digital images can be attached to the report. Properly identify and retain all replaced parts, including hose clamps replaced with any outside part, to allow part return in support of root cause analysis. Monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 460852017-08-01. Service bulletin. The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
UPS-16-U-11-S12016-08-31. Service bulletin. COOLANT CONCENTRATION ADJUSTMENT
16U112016-07-07. Service bulletin. Coolant Concentration Adjustment In some of the affected vehicles, the engine coolant to water concentration may be less than specification. Low coolant concentration could result in reduced cooling system freeze protection, reduced corrosion resistance, heater and radiator performance degradation, and water pump noise or leaks.
