Latch, Tailgate with Ajar Switch Tailgate ajar light is illuminated or intermittently illuminated when the tailgate is closed or tailgate will not auto release. Please contact release engineer Richard Sukhdeo at cell phone number (248) 982-3478 for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution. If contact is not made within 15 minutes, please continue with the repair and make note of the presence of a tonneau cover and type of cover on the repair order.

Power Latch W/AJAR Prior to ordering this part for a customer stating the Tailgate will not auto release or Ajar light is on when the tailgate is closed, first try adjusting the tailgate strikers to minimize the force required to close. The striker must be centered up/down in the latch opening. You have to balance tailgate flushness and closing effort by moving the strikers fore or aft. Striker position also affects closing effort. In most cases moving the right side striker rearward or the left side forward fixes the issue and maintains flushness within tolerance. On the standard tailgate, the ajar switch is on the right side latch only. Please contact FCA Redacted Content for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair. |
