This Service Information bulletin is being published because vehicles are down for an extended period of time when researching system failures with ConnectedDrive or BMW Assist. This Service Information bulletin will assist you both in identifying the issue and providing technical support. CAUSE Not enough information is available for BMW NA engineers to assist the technician in diagnosing the root cause.

The discontinuation of 3G cellular communication for Combox, TCB 3G and ATM 3G (Telematics ControlModule) can no longer be supported by the cellular network provider starting February 2022. The decision to phase out 3G network technology was made at the discretion of the respective cellular carriers and lies beyond the control of BMW. Due to the phase-out, BMW Assist and ConnectedDrive services will no longer be supported after this date.

To ensure the best navigation experience, we do everything in our power to create the best maps. Your reports help us to detect changes in your area and keep future versions of our maps as accurate as possible. Therefore, a road map error or missing data must be reported directly to the map supplier.

6135122019-07-12. Service bulletin. Radio and Air Conditioning Functions Inoperative, When Vehicle is Moving. All audio and heating/air conditioning functions cannot be controlled when the vehicle is moving. After the vehicle is turned off and has entered sleep mode (after approximately 30 minutes), the system operates normally. CAUSE: Software error in the audio and air conditioning control panel.
3402122019-07-10. Service bulletin. "Service Action: Programming Update for Condition Based Service (CBS) Data. Due to a software error, the remaining distance to a brake service may be incorrectly displayed in the instrument cluster and/or control display. When the calculated distance for a brake service falls below 1243 miles, the range may be improperly displayed. VEHICLES AFFECTED: This Service Action involves certain X3 vehicles which were produced from July 2010 to September 2011. In order to determine whether a specific vehicle has had this Service Action completed or is affected by this Service Action, first check the B-pillar label for code number 608. If code number 608 has been punched out, the campaign has already been performed. If code number 608 has not been punched out, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action."
1220112019-07-10. Service bulletin. N54, N54T - Catalytic Converter Conversion Faults Stored. The Service Engine Soon (MIL) lamp could come on with one or both of the following faults stored in the DME: * 29F4: catalytic converter conversion - bank 1 * 29F5: catalytic converter conversion - bank 2 DME software diagnostic error.
1219122019-07-10. Service bulletin. Service Action: Program Control Units (OBD, Electric Coolant Pump). Due to an error in the data for OBD (On-Board Diagnosis) a DME software update is required. CAUSE DME software error.
B1220192019-06-24. Service bulletin. DELIVERY STOP: PROGRAM CONTROL UNITS (DME). A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective May 16 2019) on certain Model Year 2016-2020 BMW vehicles that have been produced between June 19 2015 and April 17 2019. A software error within the Digital Motor Electronics (DME) may cause a miscalculation of an onboard diagnostic (OBD) function. All vehicles will need a software update (no parts required).
B6220172019-05-20. Service bulletin. N63T CCM "LOW OIL LEVEL" NOT DISPLAYED. Drivetrain Malfunction Warning is illuminated and DME fault code 1C4002 (Engine oil level: too low) is stored. Customer complains that Check Control Message (Low Oil level") has never been displayed. The engine oil level measurement test works correctly and shows low oil level when checked under Vehicle Status tab in CID.
