Service bulletin M110715

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

"Excessive amount of water condensation may accumulate in the engine's crankcase. With prolonged vehicle storage, water condensation in engine's oil may cause oil pump malfunction. AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action involves F55 and F56 models (MINI Cooper with B38 engine) produced from 07/05/2014 to 02/24/2015 that are still ""new vehicles"" in dealer inventory, based on our analysis. Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as ""Open"" when checked either in the ""Service Menu"" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key Reader. Increased number of colds starts and stops during a vehicle's transportation and storage process (prior to customer delivery)."
