NHTSA's summary

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that after pressing a Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning button on the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning controls they become stuck. Technician will need to remove blower motor control module and check to see if the buttons move in and out properly, if the buttons do not move properly follow published Service Information diagnostics. When the buttons move properly do not replace the module because it will not fix the problem. Dealer should communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern.
