What’s likely causing it is the seat-back fabric rubbing against the foam pad underneath. This noise only happens when the seat gets hot (the seat temperature is over 104° F). We’re aware of this concern and we’re currently working on a solution, so, at this time, there’s no product improvement available. Until there is, don’t try replacing the seat frame or the seat-back pad. You won’t get rid of this noise and you just might wind up with a come-back. Be sure to pass this info along to the service advisor so he or she can inform your customer of the situation.

American Honda previously notified CARB and the EPA for this action.

Also the roof, trunk, upper portions of the quarter panel, and the upper portions of the doors may look chalky or cloudy. American Honda is extending the warranty on the paint of the affected vehicles to 7 years from the original date of purchase with no mileage limit. This warranty extension does not apply to other paint issues like rock chips, scratches, bird droppings, sap, etc.
