THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES WITH THE DRIVER’S DOOR LOCK CYLINDER COVER MISSING. THE COVER MAY HAVE BEEN REMOVED TO ACCESS THE KEY CYLINDER WHILE SHIPPING IN TRANSPORT MODE. IF THE COVER IS MISSING INSPECT THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE COVER WAS PLACED INSIDE DURING SHIPPING. IF THE COVER IS MISSING A REPLACEMENT CAN BE ORDERED THROUGH THE PARTS DEPARTMENT USING PART NUMBER 13596115. A CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE ON THE 2015 MODEL WITH REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE AVF TO ALLOW THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TO WORK WHEN IN TRANSPORTATION MODE.

The cover may have been removed to access the key cylinder while shipping in transport mode. If the cover is missing inspect the inside of the vehicle to see if the cover was placed inside during shipping. If the cover is missing a replacement can be ordered through the parts department using part number 13596115. A change has been made on the 2015 model with regular production option code AVF to allow the remote keyless entry to work when in transportation mode.
PIT5407	2017-08-15. Service bulletin. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a concern on vehicles where the power lift gate binds or makes a popping noise when operated the gate also may not stay open. In most cases no diagnostic trouble codes will be set. The concern is most likely caused by the passenger side strut binding between the inner and outer tubes. Replace the passenger side strut and only if the concern is still present replace the driver side actuator.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that are equipped with Hands Free Power Lift-gate Regular Production Option Code (TC2). Some customers may experience problems with the activation of the lift-gate hands free operation. Dealer will communicate to the customer some tips on the Hands free Lift-gate. The remote keyless entry FOB must be within 3 feet or 1 meter from the bumper. The foot kick is conducted at the direct center of the length of kick zone.
