This recall affects oil filter part number: 11427721779-04.\n\nOn certain motorcycles, the oil filter may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, under certain conditions, the filter could loosen and create an oil leak.\n\nSafety Risk:\nAn oil leak near the rear tire could affect handling and control of the motorcycle. An oil leak could create a hazard for others. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, oil that leaks onto hot components could create a fire risk.\n\nCorrective Actions:\nBMW Motorrad will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the oil filter.","mfr_campaign":"0000112900","units":950,"do_not_drive":null,"park_outside":null,"notification":"Safety Mfr","match":"exact","models":["S1000RR"],"built_from":null,"built_to":null,"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/recalls/tc/2024705"},{"source":"tc","country":"ca","campaign":"2020570","date":"2020-11-24","manufacturer":null,"component":"Brakes","summary":"Issue:\nOn certain motorcycles, the front brake calipers may leak a small amount of brake fluid when parked. Over a long time, this could empty the fluid reservoir. If this happens, the motorcycle will have reduced brake performance. This problem may result in brake fluid on the front tire or wheel, and on the ground after the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period. The owner's manual has information for how to check the brake fluid level before riding.\nNote: This recall replaces BMW recall 34 003 20 (008) (Transport Canada recall 2020-377). Motorcycles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.\n\nSafety Risk:\nReduced front brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.\n\nCorrective Actions:\nBMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to inspect the front brakes.
