Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may include P0300, P0301-P0304, P0316, P0217, P1285 and/or P1299 stored in powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder. This may be due to coolant intrusion due to corrosion on the engine block. To diagnose this concern, with the engine at normal operating temperature, pressurize the cooling system to 138 kPa (20 psi) and hold for 5 hours. If the coolant pressure drops 27.57 kPa (4psi), remove the spark plugs and inspect for coolant in the cylinders. If coolant is found in any of the cylinders, replace the engine long block assembly. Follow normal prior approval process for your Dealership. However, follow the diagnostic repair procedure in this article to determine correct repair. For claiming, use causal part 6006 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the SLTS Manual.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10137115-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10137115-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10137115"}],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/makes/ford/escape/2015/bulletins?code=P0316"},"related":{"components":[],"bulletins":[],"recalls":{"may_apply":true,"recalls":[],"lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null}}},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/makes/ford/escape/2015/codes/P0316","note":"The bulletins listed name this code in NHTSA's summary, or are about the same components.
