Nearby residual EGR gas freezes the Electronic Throttle Valve (ETV) at cold ambient temperatures (approximately 23 F / -5 C). The frozen throttle valve causes MIL illumination for P2100 detection. This TSB provides field fix information on hard-to-start engine conditions or DTC P2100 detection (P2100: Disconnection on throttle valve control servo circuit). New ECM software modifies the EGR intake air activation temperature to avoid freezing the ETV and false P2100 detection.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10172188-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10172188-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10172188"}],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/makes/mitsubishi/outlander/2011/bulletins?code=P2100"},"related":{"components":[],"bulletins":[],"recalls":{"may_apply":true,"recalls":[],"lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null}}},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/makes/mitsubishi/outlander/2011/codes/P2100","note":"The bulletins listed name this code in NHTSA's summary, or are about the same components.
