This can cause engine wear that can lead to increased oil consumption. Eventually, this can create abnormal engine noise and the oil pressure warning light may turn on. If you continue to drive the vehicle with these symptoms, the engine could fail.\nNote: This only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.0 L Nu MPI engine.\n\nSafety Risk:\nA sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. An engine failure could also create the risk of a fire.\n\nCorrective Actions:\nKia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the engine. The engine will be replaced, if necessary. The dealer will also install a Piston-ring Noise Sensing System (PNSS) software update, to alert the driver of potential damage before an engine failure occurs.","consequence":null,"remedy":null,"notes":null,"mfr_campaign":"RC144","part_number":null,"units":19634,"completion":null,"do_not_drive":null,"park_outside":null,"notification":"Safety Mfr","french":{"component":"Moteur","notification":"Sécurité - fabricant","summary":"Problème :\nSur certains véhicules, les segments racleurs d'huile du moteur pourraient être défectueux. Cela peut entraîner l'usure du moteur, ce qui peut en retour accroître la consommation d'huile. Cette situation pourrait éventuellement causer des bruits anormaux dans le moteur et le témoin d'avertissement de pression d'huile pourrait s'illuminer. Le moteur risque de tomber en panne si vous continuez de conduire le véhicule avec ces symptômes.\nRemarque : Ce rappel concerne uniquement les véhicules munis d'un moteur NU MPI de 2,0 L.\n\nRisques pour la sécurité :\nUne perte soudaine de puissance motrice pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Une panne moteur pourrait également créer un risque d'incendie.\n\nMesures correctives :\nKia doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire l'inspection du moteur. Le moteur sera remplacé au besoin. Le concessionnaire effectuera également la mise à jour du logiciel du système de détection de bruit dans les segments de piston (PNSS), afin d'avertir le conducteur de dommages potentiels avant qu'une panne moteur ne survienne."},"vehicles":[{"year":2020,"make":"KIA","model":"FORTE","vehicle_id":"2020_kia_forte","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null},{"year":2021,"make":"KIA","model":"SELTOS","vehicle_id":"2021_kia_seltos","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null},{"year":2020,"make":"KIA","model":"SOUL","vehicle_id":"2020_kia_soul","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null},{"year":2021,"make":"KIA","model":"SOUL","vehicle_id":"2021_kia_soul","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null}],"may_apply":true,"as_of":"2026-10-19","lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null},"attribution":["Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada."],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/recalls/tc/2021225"}
