Specifically, ten minutes after the vehicle is powered off, the release may not work. This could prevent a person that is trapped inside the trunk from opening it.\n\nSafety Risk:\nIf a person is closed inside the trunk compartment, they may not be able to get out. This could create a risk of injury.\n\nCorrective Actions:\nGeneral Motors will send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. This will allow you to update the Body Control Module software without having to bring the vehicle to a dealership. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
