The brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If this happens, a driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle or the brake pedal may interfere with the accelerator pedal. Both of these situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction:  Dealers will add adhesive to the pivot nut and will reinstall it at an increased torque.
