{"source":"tc","country":"ca","campaign":"2018016","date":"2018-01-09","owner_notified":null,"manufacturer":null,"component":"Airbag","summary":"On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will either replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator, or replace the airbag assembly. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected. Additional note: The 2010 model year vehicles involved in this campaign have been identified as having once being registered in “Zone B” in the USA.","consequence":null,"remedy":null,"notes":null,"mfr_campaign":"17476","part_number":null,"units":21632,"completion":null,"do_not_drive":null,"park_outside":null,"notification":"Safety Mfr","french":{"component":"Coussin gonflable","notification":"Sécurité - fabricant","summary":"Dans certains véhicules, une exposition prolongée à une humidité et à une température absolues élevées, combinée à un cycle à température élevée, pourrait éventuellement détériorer l'agent propulsif dans le coussin gonflable du côté passager (avant). Par conséquent, le coussin gonflable pourrait être déployé avec plus de force que la normale. Si le véhicule est impliqué dans une collision nécessitant le déploiement des coussins gonflables, des fragments pourraient être projetés vers les occupants du véhicule et le coussin gonflable pourrait être endommagé, ce qui l'empêcherait de fonctionner adéquatement. Ces problèmes pourraient augmenter les risques de blessures. Mesure corrective : Selon le modèle, les concessionnaires devront remplacer le générateur de gaz du coussin ou l'ensemble du coussin gonflable du passager. Remarque : Le climat canadien provoque une détérioration lente de l'agent propulsif. Le présent rappel constitue une précaution en vue d'éviter les risques éventuels et il vise le remplacement des générateurs de gaz de coussin gonflable avant que leur fonctionnement ne soit touché. Autre remarque : Les véhicules de l'année-modèle 2010 visés par le présent rappel ont été identifiés comme ayant déjà été enregistrés dans la \"zone B\" des États-Unis."},"vehicles":[{"year":2009,"make":"PONTIAC","model":"VIBE","vehicle_id":"2009_pontiac_vibe","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null},{"year":2010,"make":"PONTIAC","model":"VIBE","vehicle_id":"2010_pontiac_vibe","match":"exact","built_from":null,"built_to":null}],"may_apply":true,"as_of":"2026-10-19","lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null},"attribution":["Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada."],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/recalls/tc/2018016"}
