This could result in the parking brake warning light intermittently not illuminating when the parking brake is applied. A failure of the parking brake indicator to illuminate when the parking brake is applied can result in a driver misapplication of the parking brake, which may cause the following conditions: effect on vehicle acceleration, parking brake noise and/or parking brake “drag” and smoke and/or smell from driving with the applied parking brake.
