Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Cette pression accrue peut entraîner la rupture du générateur de gaz, ce qui peut propulser des fragments en direction des occupants du véhicule, augmentant ainsi le risque de blessures. La pression peut également endommager le module du coussin gonflable, ce qui pourrait empêcher le bon déploiement du coussin. Lors d’un accident, si le coussin gonflable n’est pas entièrement déployé (dans le cas où il devrait être déployé), il peut y avoir un plus grand risque de blessures corporelles à la personne assise dans le siège.
