Insufficient thread engagement of the bolts could result in an insufficient clamping load on the joint.  During routine maintenance of brakes there is a potential for the threads in the caliper be damaged or stripped.  If unnoticed and the caliper is refitted, there is a possibility of front caliper coming loose which could result in a crash causing personal injury or death.
