Due to electrical noise, a component in the air bag control module may fail, causing the front air bags, side air bags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.","consequence":"Inadvertent deployment of the air bags may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash.","remedy":"Honda dealers will replace the supplemental restraint system electronic control unit (SRS ECU).  The recall began on February 22, 2016.  Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009. Honda's number for this recall is JN6 (Odyssey), and JN7 (MDX).  Note: This recall supersedes recall 13V-412.  Vehicles that had a noise filter installed as the remedy for that campaign need to have the SRS ECU replaced under this campaign.","notes":"Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.","mfr_campaign":"JP5, JP6","part_number":null,"units":374177,"completion":{"kind":"quarterly","report_number":6,"period_from":"2017-2","period_to":"2017-2","submitted":"2017-07-28","involved":374177,"remedied":199781,"unreachable":6818,"removed":2,"remedied_percent":53,"as_of":"2026-10-19"},"do_not_drive":false,"park_outside":false,"notification":null,"french":null,"vehicles":[{"year":2003,"make":"ACURA","model":"MDX","vehicle_id":"2003_acura_mdx","match":"exact","built_from":"2002-02-21","built_to":"2003-09-23"},{"year":2003,"make":"HONDA","model":"ODYSSEY","vehicle_id":"2003_honda_odyssey","match":"exact","built_from":"2002-02-13","built_to":"2004-08-13"},{"year":2004,"make":"HONDA","model":"ODYSSEY","vehicle_id":"2004_honda_odyssey","match":"exact","built_from":"2002-02-13","built_to":"2004-08-13"}],"may_apply":true,"as_of":"2026-10-19","lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null},"attribution":[],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/recalls/nhtsa/15V045000"}
