{"source":"nhtsa","country":"us","campaign":"13V429000","date":"2013-09-26","owner_notified":"2014-02-27","manufacturer":"Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing","component":"POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION","summary":"Toyota is recalling certain model year 2004-2005 Sienna vehicles manufactured January 10, 2003, through August 10, 2005; and model year 2007-2009 Sienna vehicles manufactured February 20, 2007, through December 12, 2008.  In the affected vehicles, due to a problem within the shift lock solenoid, there is a possibility that the shift lever could be moved out of Park position without depressing the brake pedal.","consequence":"If the shift lever is moved out of the Park position without the brake applied, the transmission will either engage a drive gear or Neutral, increasing the risk of a backover or roll away crash.","remedy":"Toyota will mail interim notifications to owners beginning in late October 2013.  When parts are available, owners will be sent a second notice and dealers will replace the shift lock solenoid, free of charge.  Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.","notes":"Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.","mfr_campaign":null,"part_number":null,"units":614722,"completion":{"kind":"quarterly","report_number":6,"period_from":"2015-2","period_to":"2015-2","submitted":"2015-07-27","involved":614722,"remedied":304321,"unreachable":0,"removed":0,"remedied_percent":49,"as_of":"2026-10-19"},"do_not_drive":false,"park_outside":false,"notification":null,"french":null,"vehicles":[{"year":2004,"make":"TOYOTA","model":"SIENNA","vehicle_id":"2004_toyota_sienna","match":"exact","built_from":"2003-01-10","built_to":"2005-08-10"},{"year":2005,"make":"TOYOTA","model":"SIENNA","vehicle_id":"2005_toyota_sienna","match":"exact","built_from":"2003-01-10","built_to":"2005-08-10"},{"year":2007,"make":"TOYOTA","model":"SIENNA","vehicle_id":"2007_toyota_sienna","match":"exact","built_from":"2007-02-20","built_to":"2008-12-12"},{"year":2008,"make":"TOYOTA","model":"SIENNA","vehicle_id":"2008_toyota_sienna","match":"exact","built_from":"2007-02-20","built_to":"2008-12-12"},{"year":2009,"make":"TOYOTA","model":"SIENNA","vehicle_id":"2009_toyota_sienna","match":"exact","built_from":"2007-02-20","built_to":"2008-12-12"}],"may_apply":true,"as_of":"2026-10-19","lookup":{"nhtsa":"https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls","tc":"https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/menu.aspx?lang=eng","maker":null},"attribution":[],"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/recalls/nhtsa/13V429000"}
