Normally, pressing the liftgate button (dash, liftgate, or remote) after this happens should cause the liftgate to continue in the reverse direction. Due to a software issue, if the liftgate button is pressed after the jam-safe function is activated, the liftgate may instead continue moving in the direction of the obstruction. This occurs randomly and cannot be predicted. To correct this concern, the control software of the power liftgate control module has been modified to ensure the liftgate always continues in the reverse direction when the opener switch is operated immediately after the jam-safe function is activated.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11022623-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11022623-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/11022623","components":[{"id":"structure-body","name":"Body and frame","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"MAZDA","model":"CX-70","year_from":2025,"year_to":2025,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2025_mazda_cx-70"]},{"make":"MAZDA","model":"CX-90","year_from":2024,"year_to":2025,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2024_mazda_cx-90","2025_mazda_cx-90"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
