Both the right and left sides may be affected. Affects vehicles from model series 290 in the production period 10/2023 -> 09/2024. Cause The spring dampers on the bottom of the rear-end door (right and/or left) have been screwed into the limit stop. There is consequently a distance of up to 4 mm between the spring damper and stop plug. Due to lack of a contact point in this area, the rear-end door may collide with the rear bumper and cause paint damage. Remedy Correct the incorrectly positioned spring damper. To do so, carry out the following steps. 1. Open rear-end door 2. Check position of the spring dampers on the right and left 3. Unscrew incorrectly positioned spring dampers to a distance of 3 mm (see attached photo). Important: Check and ensure the closing force of the rear-end door after unscrewing. 4. Check rear bumper and the rear-end door for paint damage. Selectively rework noticeable problems or paint damage.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11010564-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11010564-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/11010564","components":[{"id":"structure-body","name":"Body and frame","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GT43","year_from":2024,"year_to":2024,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2024_mercedes-benz_amg-gt"]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GT53E","year_from":2024,"year_to":2024,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2024_mercedes-benz_amg-gt"]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GT63","year_from":2024,"year_to":2024,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2024_mercedes-benz_amg-gt"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
