The HVAC system provides cooling and heating to help maintain a comfortable environment inside the vehicle cabin. The blower motor provides primary airflow for the HVAC system. Extended use of the HVAC system at high fan speeds may cause damage to the multi-fuse terminals for the HVAC blower motor circuit, which can cause the blower motor to become inoperative, resulting in reduced heat and air conditioning.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11009492-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11009492-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/11009492","components":[{"id":"visibility","name":"Glass, wipers and mirrors","parent":null},{"id":"wiper","name":"Wipers and washers","parent":"visibility"}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"KIA","model":"OPTIMA","year_from":2016,"year_to":2020,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2016_kia_optima","2017_kia_optima","2018_kia_optima","2019_kia_optima","2020_kia_optima"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
