The trunk lock operation may not complete, which can cause trunk to be inoperative and/or parcel shelf flaps to remain open when top opening cycle has completed. This may affect the G562, G563, or G564 sensors when running the test plan or looking at MVB 2. The guide bushing at the back of the lock mechanism (location circled in figure 1 below) may not align with the guide pin mounted on the body. It is necessary to remove trim on lock mechanism to inspect guide bushing. Misalignment of lock mechanism can cause damage to the guide bushing. The lock mechanism will need to be adjusted and the guide bushing replaced in most instances.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10239781-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10239781-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10239781","components":[{"id":"structure-body","name":"Body and frame","parent":null},{"id":"latches-locks","name":"Latches and locks","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"VOLKSWAGEN","model":"EOS","year_from":2012,"year_to":2012,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2012_volkswagen_eos"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
