Vent is located on filler neck and can be inspected by removing fuel door assembly. If cover is found over vent, inspect for damage to fuel tank and replace tank if needed. Ensure cover is not present on replacement fuel tank. If fuel tank is not damaged, remove cover over fuel tank vent and retest for customer concern. If cover is not present over vent, continue with normal diagnosis.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10238956-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10238956-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10238956","components":[{"id":"fuel-system","name":"Fuel system","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"VOLKSWAGEN","model":"JETTA","year_from":2011,"year_to":2013,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_volkswagen_jetta","2012_volkswagen_jetta","2013_volkswagen_jetta"]},{"make":"VOLKSWAGEN","model":"JETTA SPORTWAGEN","year_from":2011,"year_to":2013,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_volkswagen_jetta-sportwagen","2012_volkswagen_jetta-sportwagen","2013_volkswagen_jetta-sportwagen"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
