If the key fob firmware has not been updated, the key fob may experience rapid battery drain and possible loss of function. If there is a loss of key fob function, the vehicle can still be unlocked, accessed, and activated through other means. These include Rivian-provided access cards and wrist bands, the Rivian smartphone app, or a remote unlock from Rivian Service. Rivian will replace the batteries in all key fobs and update the key fob firmware.
