If the frame harness touches the steering column intermediate shaft and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the frame harness. The wear-through condition, which has not been observed to date in any customer vehicle, would only result if the frame harness length is near the limits of the specification and the nearby harness that normally constrains the frame harness is misrouted. The potential wear-through condition may result in a loss of electronic stability control. If loss of electronic stability control occurs, the vehicle will enter a reduced performance safe-state mode and an \"Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system malfunction\" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed on their vehicle. Rivian will install a cable tie to ensure clearance between the frame harness and the steering column intermediate shaft.
