The noise is most prevalent in 3rd and 4th gear when the vehicle is warm. This may be due to normal driveline noise transmitting through the driveshaft. To correct the condition, replace the rear axle drive pinion flange using service part number HC3Z-4851-A. Also, replace the rear pinion seal. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-02. For claiming, use causal part 4001 and applicable labor operations in Section 04 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10202797-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10202797-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10202797","components":[{"id":"powertrain","name":"Transmission and driveline","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"FORD","model":"F-250 SD","year_from":2021,"year_to":2022,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2021_ford_f-250","2022_ford_f-250"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
