Cause: Height adjustment runs into upper / lower limit stop and jams there or generates a breakaway cracking noise when exiting the jammed limit stop. Remedy: 1. Move fore/aft adjustment to the end position. 2. Release jamming of height adjustment by knocking with palm of hand onto top of steering wheel. At the same time, push adjusting switch (downwards). 3. Commission driver's seat control unit. While doing so, - the control unit software is updated, if necessary - the limit stops are cleared and normalized again - and any renewed jamming is prevented 4. Once commissioning has been completed the vehicle can be handed over to the customer.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10189402-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10189402-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10189402","components":[{"id":"driver-assistance","name":"Driver assistance","parent":null},{"id":"electrical","name":"Electrical system","parent":null},{"id":"steering","name":"Steering","parent":null},{"id":"backup-camera","name":"Backup camera","parent":"driver-assistance"}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG C43","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG C63","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG C63 S","year_from":2019,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG C63S","year_from":2018,"year_to":2018,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG CLA35","year_from":2020,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG CLA45","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG CLS53","year_from":2019,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG CLS63","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG E43","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG E53","year_from":2019,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG E53 S","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG E63","year_from":2018,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG E63S","year_from":2018,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG G63","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG G65","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLA35","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLA35","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLA45","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLA45 S","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLB35","year_from":2020,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLC43","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLC63","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLC63 S","year_from":2020,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLE43","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLE53","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLE63","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLE63 S","year_from":2021,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"AMG GLS63","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"S 450","year_from":2019,"year_to":2020,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"S 550","year_from":2019,"year_to":2020,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"S 560","year_from":2020,"year_to":2021,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"MERCEDES-BENZ","model":"S560","year_from":2019,"year_to":2019,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
