Conventionnal Trucks or 2013 - 16 (155, 195) COE trucks. The purpose of the tech tip is to provide information for a low power concern possibly relating to the brake switch. Hino Trucks are equipped with two brake switches. First, a stop lamp switch that is designed to activate stop lamps on the truck. Second, a brakeswitch that is designed to send brake application input for modules to monitor brake activation. When monitoring DXII with the brake applied, the switches should both read ON and when the brake pedal is released, they shoiuld both read OFF. If the brake is not applied (typically when accelerating) and if one switch reads ON while the other reads OFF when the brake pedal is not applied, a brake switch correlation concern is the likely cause. Perform the following to identify the switch with this concern.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10184984-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10184984-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10184984","components":[{"id":"driver-assistance","name":"Driver assistance","parent":null},{"id":"electrical","name":"Electrical system","parent":null},{"id":"powertrain","name":"Transmission and driveline","parent":null},{"id":"backup-camera","name":"Backup camera","parent":"driver-assistance"}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"HINO","model":"CONVENTIONAL MODELS","year_from":2008,"year_to":2016,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
