The burr can dislodge over time due to vibrations and oil pressure fluctuations (incl. temperature influences). This can cause a narrowing or restriction of an oil duct or oil spray nozzle. A lack of lubrication (e.g. the timing chain) or insufficient cooling (e.g. the piston) can be the result.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176385-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176385-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10176385","components":[{"id":"engine","name":"Engine","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"BMW","model":"S 1000 RR","year_from":2014,"year_to":2014,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2014_bmw_s-1000-rr"]},{"make":"BMW","model":"S1000 RR","year_from":2010,"year_to":2013,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2010_bmw_s-1000-rr","2011_bmw_s-1000-rr","2012_bmw_s-1000-rr","2013_bmw_s-1000-rr"]},{"make":"BMW","model":"S1000 RR","year_from":2015,"year_to":2020,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2015_bmw_s-1000-rr","2016_bmw_s-1000-rr","2017_bmw_s-1000-rr","2018_bmw_s-1000-rr","2019_bmw_s-1000-rr","2020_bmw_s-1000-rr"]},{"make":"BMW","model":"S1000 XR","year_from":2015,"year_to":2015,"match":null,"vehicle_ids":[]},{"make":"BMW","model":"S1000 XR","year_from":2016,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2016_bmw_s-1000-xr","2017_bmw_s-1000-xr","2018_bmw_s-1000-xr","2019_bmw_s-1000-xr"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
