If this DTC is retrieved with other DTCs, diagnose those first. Engineering data has confirmed that DTC P04DB is typically a green engine and/or low mileage concern that will not repeat if a crankcase ventilation system concern is not present. Inspect the crankcase ventilation tube at the rear air intake system connection for a partial disconnect. If the crankcase ventilation tube is not disconnected and no concern is identified after performing Powertrain Control and Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual pinpoint test HG, clear the DTC using the appropriate Ford scan tool and return the vehicle to the customer.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176122-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176122-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10176122","components":[{"id":"engine","name":"Engine","parent":null}],"codes":["P04DB"],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"FORD","model":"ESCAPE","year_from":2020,"year_to":2020,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2020_ford_escape"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
