The striker must be centered up/down in the latch opening. You have to balance tailgate flushness and closing effort by moving the strikers fore or aft. Striker position also affects closing effort. In most cases moving the right side striker rearward or the left side forward fixes the issue and maintains flushness within tolerance. On the standard tailgate, the ajar switch is on the right side latch only. Please contact FCA Redacted Content for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution.
