On the prior P3 Legacy Cascadia vehicles with manual transmission, the Bottom of Clutch (BOC) switch could be uses as an interlock for the engine crank circuit. If programmed in the SAM Cab, the engine crank circuit would require the clutch to be fully depressed in order for the engine to crank. P3 also offered a neutral switch as an interlock that could be used instead of the BOC and would require the transmission to be neutral in order for the engine to crank. P4 New Cascadia only offers the neutral switch as the interlock for engine crank.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173647-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173647-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10173647","components":[{"id":"engine","name":"Engine","parent":null},{"id":"powertrain","name":"Transmission and driveline","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"FREIGHTLINER","model":"CASCADIA","year_from":2017,"year_to":2021,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2017_freightliner_cascadia","2018_freightliner_cascadia","2019_freightliner_cascadia","2020_freightliner_cascadia","2021_freightliner_cascadia"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
