From our investigation, we've found the reason could be customers are trying to pull open the fuel fill door, not realizing it's been locked by the walk away auto lock feature. When activated, the walk away auto lock feature locks all of the doors, including the fuel fill door, when your customer walks away from the vehicle with the key fob. Pulling on the fuel fill door while it's locked can break the clip. To fix this issue, the fuel fill door clip must be replaced.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173162-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173162-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10173162","components":[{"id":"structure-body","name":"Body and frame","parent":null},{"id":"fuel-system","name":"Fuel system","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"HONDA","model":"ACCORD","year_from":2018,"year_to":2020,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2018_honda_accord","2019_honda_accord","2020_honda_accord"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
