On certain trucks, the reflective conspicuity tape on the back wall of the sleeper box was installed in incorrect locations. FMVSS 108 Section S8 2.4.2 regulations require the conspicuity tape to be placed in specific areas. A truck that does not have properly placed conspicuity tape may be less visible to others and could create an increased risk of a crash. Vehicles operating without a trailer may be cited for incorrect tape location and fail an annual truck inspection. REsolution is to inspect the location of the back of sleeper reflective tape, and apply in the proper location if required.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10168710-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10168710-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10168710","components":[{"id":"equipment","name":"Equipment and accessories","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"PETERBILT","model":"579","year_from":2020,"year_to":2020,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2020_peterbilt_579"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
