This bulletin provides information relating to all Kia vehicles equipped with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. In these engines highly pressurized gasoline is injected via a common fuel rail and injectors that deliver fuel directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. In comparison, in a conventional Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPI) engine, the gasoline is injected into the intake port of each cylinder at a relatively low pressure. Due to high fuel pressure in a GDI system, servicing the GDI system requires special attention and handling procedures. This bulletin provides special service information and specifications for the GDI fuel system components.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10152915-0001.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10152915-9999.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10152915","components":[{"id":"fuel-system","name":"Fuel system","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"KIA","model":"CADENZA","year_from":2014,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2014_kia_cadenza","2015_kia_cadenza","2016_kia_cadenza","2017_kia_cadenza","2018_kia_cadenza","2019_kia_cadenza"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"FORTE","year_from":2014,"year_to":2018,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2014_kia_forte","2015_kia_forte","2016_kia_forte","2017_kia_forte","2018_kia_forte"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"FORTE KOUP","year_from":2014,"year_to":2015,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2014_kia_forte","2015_kia_forte"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"FORTE KOUP","year_from":2016,"year_to":2016,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2016_kia_forte-koup"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"K900","year_from":2015,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2015_kia_k900","2016_kia_k900","2017_kia_k900","2018_kia_k900","2019_kia_k900"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"NIRO","year_from":2017,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2017_kia_niro","2018_kia_niro","2019_kia_niro"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"OPTIMA","year_from":2011,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_kia_optima","2012_kia_optima","2013_kia_optima","2014_kia_optima","2015_kia_optima","2016_kia_optima","2017_kia_optima","2018_kia_optima","2019_kia_optima"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"OPTIMA HYBRID","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2017_kia_optima","2018_kia_optima"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"OPTIMA PHEV","year_from":2017,"year_to":2017,"match":"base","vehicle_ids":["2017_kia_optima"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"RIO","year_from":2012,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2012_kia_rio","2013_kia_rio","2014_kia_rio","2015_kia_rio","2016_kia_rio","2017_kia_rio","2018_kia_rio","2019_kia_rio"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"SEDONA","year_from":2015,"year_to":2018,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2015_kia_sedona","2016_kia_sedona","2017_kia_sedona","2018_kia_sedona"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"SORENTO","year_from":2012,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2012_kia_sorento","2013_kia_sorento","2014_kia_sorento","2015_kia_sorento","2016_kia_sorento","2017_kia_sorento","2018_kia_sorento","2019_kia_sorento"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"SOUL","year_from":2012,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2012_kia_soul","2013_kia_soul","2014_kia_soul","2015_kia_soul","2016_kia_soul","2017_kia_soul","2018_kia_soul","2019_kia_soul"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"SPORTAGE","year_from":2011,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_kia_sportage","2012_kia_sportage","2013_kia_sportage","2014_kia_sportage","2015_kia_sportage","2016_kia_sportage","2017_kia_sportage","2018_kia_sportage","2019_kia_sportage"]},{"make":"KIA","model":"STINGER","year_from":2018,"year_to":2019,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2018_kia_stinger","2019_kia_stinger"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
