The belt extender fails to extend. 2. The belt extender extends, but the safety belt slips off the hand. CAUSE This may be caused by one or more of the following: ? The belt extender has mechanically and/or electrically failed. ? Excessive resistance from the safety-belt reel (twisted safety belt) does not allow the belt to extend properly, causing a failure to deliver the safety belt. ?
