Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further service. This will prevent a P1C86-14 DTC being stored in the electronic shift module (ESM). Failure to disconnect the battery before servicing the shifter may cause the P1C86-14 DTC to be set again. Clear the code before replacing the shifter.
