This may be due to a flexplate crack around the crankshaft. To resolve this concern, verify that the flexplate is cracked around the crankshaft using the inspection plate and a mirror. If the flexplate is cracked, replace the transmission fluid pump, flexplate, flexplate bolts and torque converter. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01A and 307-01. When replacing the torque converter, ensure that the torque converter pilot hub is lubricated with Multi-Purpose Grease XL-5-A (ESB-M1C930-B) prior to reassembly. For claiming, use causal part 6375 and applicable labor operations in Section 06 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10148725-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10148725-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10148725","components":[{"id":"engine","name":"Engine","parent":null},{"id":"equipment","name":"Equipment and accessories","parent":null},{"id":"powertrain","name":"Transmission and driveline","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"FORD","model":"EDGE","year_from":2015,"year_to":2018,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2015_ford_edge","2016_ford_edge","2017_ford_edge","2018_ford_edge"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
