This DTC sets when the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) self test is run and is a result of a software issue between the SECM and the IDS. After the IDS self test is run DTC B13BD sets and the heated steering wheel is disabled. To eliminate the DTC and return the heated steering wheel functionality, perform the IDS SASM module reset routine. The IDS reset routine is available under Toolbox > Chassis > Steering > Adaptive Front Steering > SASM Module Reset.
