This protective film and its adhesive residue (even if the residue is not visible) must be removed at the dealer: - During the PDI cleaning of the vehicle, or - Immediately after installing running boards. Refer to General Cleaning Information on the next page. Failure to clean adhesive residue leads to dirt collection on the residue, and possible running board chrome strip scratching when customers clean their running boards. Dirt collected in adhesive residue may lead to misdiagnosis that a running board chrome strip is damaged; when in fact it is only dirt and residue that needs proper cleaning.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10133207-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10133207-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10133207","components":[{"id":"equipment","name":"Equipment and accessories","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"NISSAN","model":"TITAN","year_from":2017,"year_to":2018,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2017_nissan_titan","2018_nissan_titan"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
