This concern happens especially when the door glass is wet with moisture or after a car wash. This is caused by stick-slip noise occurring at the contact surfaces between the door glass and the weather strip. With repeated moving up and down, the anti-noise paint on the weather strip peels off. To prevent the stick-slip noise, a polyester film has been attached at the applicable location of the weatherstrip.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10120357-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10120357-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10120357","components":[{"id":"structure-body","name":"Body and frame","parent":null}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"MAZDA","model":"MX-5","year_from":2016,"year_to":2016,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2016_mazda_mx-5"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
