The affected vehicles were fitted with a control unit for the all-wheel drive system in which a purging routine for the hydraulic pump drive for the multiplate clutch is not activated due to an error in the control unit software. This can cause wear particles to clog up the hydraulic pump drive over the service life of the vehicle, resulting in higher power consumption for the pump drive.
