Technician will need to disable high voltage and fully drain battery coolant before removing the electrical connections. After following the published high voltage disable procedure and properly draining the coolant from the battery cooling system, it may be helpful to use electrical tape to help seal the connections on the battery relay junction block. If coolant does enter these connectors, clean completely with electrical contact cleaner and low pressure compressed air, then apply a light coating of dielectric grease.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10114495-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10114495-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10114495","components":[{"id":"electrical","name":"Electrical system","parent":null},{"id":"battery","name":"12-volt battery","parent":"electrical"}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"CADILLAC","model":"ELR","year_from":2014,"year_to":2015,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2014_cadillac_elr","2015_cadillac_elr"]},{"make":"CHEVROLET","model":"VOLT","year_from":2011,"year_to":2015,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_chevrolet_volt","2012_chevrolet_volt","2013_chevrolet_volt","2014_chevrolet_volt","2015_chevrolet_volt"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
