This bulletin provides a service procedure to reprogram the power inverter module on certain vehicles. In wet conditions, water may wick along the Driver Motor 2 Position Sensor wires. If the water enters into the sensor body, it could set a diagnostic code, which illuminates the Check Engine lamp and requests propulsion to be inactive. The condition has occurred most often while parked, which results in a \"no-start\" condition, but could occur in other driving situations. The vehicle can be started once the water has evaporated.","document":{"url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10114208-9999.pdf","alternate_url":"https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10114208-0001.pdf","confirmed":false},"url":"https://open.wenmarpro.com/bulletins/10114208","components":[{"id":"electrical","name":"Electrical system","parent":null},{"id":"software","name":"Software","parent":"electrical"}],"codes":[],"topics":[],"vehicles":[{"make":"CHEVROLET","model":"VOLT","year_from":2011,"year_to":2013,"match":"exact","vehicle_ids":["2011_chevrolet_volt","2012_chevrolet_volt","2013_chevrolet_volt"]}],"as_of":"2026-10-19","note":"A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it.
