## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, the circlips that secure the piston\(s\) to the connecting rod\(s\) may be missing or may not have been installed properly. As a result, the piston\(s\) could become damaged and cause the engine to fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels.

Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.3 L engine.

Safety Risk:

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

None of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers. Ford will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine before each vehicle is delivered.
